Swimming for the Junior
School in Term Three
Due to circumstances beyond
our control we have had to make some changes to our plans for swimming in Term
3. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause anyone the current details
are as follows: JH and JK on Tuesday and Thursday at 10.45 am beginning on July
15th; JB on Tuesday and Thursday at 11.45 am beginning on July 15th; JS and JSE
on Monday and Wednesday at 10.45 am beginning on July 21st.
Parent/Teacher/Student
Interviews
Parent/Teacher/Student
Interviews will take place on Monday,
July 14th. This is the first day of Term 3. There will be no school for
students on this day but it is expected that they will all attend for their
interviews. Notices went home with the Newsletter last week for you to select a
preferred time. Please return the notice by Monday, June 23rd.
Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews are an important component of our school
accountability and assessment process. They
are an opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher/s. By asking questions
and gathering more detail about the information provided on the student report
card, you have an opportunity to become more involved in your child's learning
and provide support where needed.
After the interview: Keep in regular contact with the teacher to follow
up on any mutually-agreed plan; talk with your child about what has been
discussed and how you can work together to improve their learning.
You can also request
interviews at other times. If you are concerned about your child's progress,
discuss these concerns with their teacher. You can contact the school for an
appointment and make a mutually convenient time to meet with your child's
teacher.
‘754’ Fun Run
Our ‘754’ Fun Run will take place on
Wednesday, July 16th. Students took Sponsorship Forms and information home last
week. Please help them to gain sponsorship for their efforts in the Fun Run.
When we sent home the information last week we planned to undertake the Fun Run
at the Port of Bairnsdale but we have since found out the there are extensive
works taking place there so we will be relocating the Fun Run to another venue
but at this stage we are not sure where. We will let you know where the action
will take place as soon as we know. As this is one of our major fundraisers
this year we urge you to support it.
Timetable Changes.

The Walking School Bus walks on TUESDAY and THURSDAY
mornings. Well, the end of the Term is finally here and hasn’t it got bitterly
cold. Don’t forget that most of your body warmth is released through your head so
wear your beanies, scarves and gloves/mittens. May you all have a great holiday
and we look forward to seeing you again in Term 3. In relation to children in
traffic: Did you know that young children are less likely to take notice of
objects not directly in front of them? Unless they deliberately turn their
heads they may not notice vehicles to their left or right. And because they are
small, they can’t always see over bushes or parked cars. This also means they
can’t be seen easily by drivers. Encourage the children to be aware of this and
turn their heads and check before they go onto a road especially in the school
holidays where there is more traffic on our roads. Be safe and take care. All
buses will recommence by the second week of Term 3 unless otherwise advised by
your bus drivers. conductors. We welcome any parents who would like to help
develop road safety skills with children through the Walking School Bus
program, to get involved call Sherryn Hewett on 51539500.
