Where did you grow up and go to primary and secondary school?
I grew up in Bairnsdale and started my schooling at Bairnsdale West then swapped to Tambo Upper in grade 5.
I attended Bairnsdale Secondary College. My schooling highlights we’re reaching state finals in table tennis and playing in the Bairnsdale Secondary College senior band.
Where did you go to university?
Deakin Warrnambool - I played football for the Deakin Uni Sharks. We didn’t win many games but we had lots of fun. After hours of hard work, I graduated with a distinction.
How long have you been involved in education?
I started volunteering at Tambo Upper in 2009 and then ran the active after school program there for a little while.
2015 - My teaching journey began in the NT in a small indigenous community called Kalkaringi. My time up there was challenging but also incredibly rewarding. I still have some strong connections with the community.
2017 - After 6 years away I moved back to my hometown of Bairnsdale where I was offered a job at 754 primary. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time at 745 and excited about all the great work happening at the school.
What do you like to do with your spare time?
I like watching and playing all different sports and I’m a one eyed Essendon supporter. I’ve recently become a bit of a green thumb and take quite a lot of pride in my lawn. I also enjoy spending time with my wife watching Netflix.
