Where did you grow up and go to primary and secondary school?
I grew up in Ocean Grove, Geelong. I attended Ocean Grove Primary School and went to Bellarine Secondary College for my High Schooling Education. I was lucky enough to have amazing teachers who inspired me to become a teacher. I attended to Deakin University to complete my Bachelor of Primary Education studies which has brought me to where I am today, 754!!
Why Bairnsdale?
I holidayed here when I was in year seven. I loved the areas, especially the Howitt Park (we called it the yellow slide park). I enjoyed working in Geelong schools but wanted a change from the ‘city’ lifestyle. So I left my family and friends to live in this beautiful town with my partner. I knew that I wanted to be in a school which was the heart of the community and as soon as I stepped foot into 754, I knew this was the school.
How long have you been involved in education?
This is my fifth year in education and loving it.
**** note- 4 years at uni and this is my fifth year.
What do you like to do with your spare time?
In my very limited spare time, I love exercising, particularly early morning runs and gym sessions. I also love going out for dinner on the weekend after a very busy week- or sometimes takeaway when I am too tired!!
